Prof Romain Glèlè Kakaï
Coordinator of TEBWA
Prof Romain GLELE KAKAÏ is a full professor in Biostatistics and Forest Estimations at the Faculty of Agronomic Sciences, University of Abomey-Calavi. He is the founder and currently the head of the Laboratoire de Biomathématiques et d’Estimations Forestières (www.labef-uac.org). He is the coordinator of the master programme in Biostatistics and the PhD programme in Biometry at the University of Abomey-calavi. He is recipient of several individual research grants and fellowships, including the Humboldt fellowship, and has (co)authored more than 300 scientific articles and books.

Prof Dismand Stephan HOUINATO
Coordinator of the Master program in Epidemiology
Prof. Dismand Houinato is a CAMES Full Professor of Neurology at the Faculty of Health Sciences of the University of Abomey-Calavi. He also holds a PhD in epidemiology, a license to direct research in epidemiology (HDR) and a diploma in statistics applied to medicine. Besides, he teaches neurology, epidemiology and research methodology at the two universities of the Republic of Benin. He is currently the Director of the Doctoral School of Health Sciences, Director of the Laboratoire d’épidémiologie des maladies chroniques et neurologiques (LEMACEN) where he coordinates the Master of Epidemiology and Interventions in Public Health.

Prof (assoc) Jacques VIGAN
Member of the TEBWA’s Team
Dr. Jacques VIGAN is married, father of two children. He is Associate Lecturer, Head of Teaching Unit in Nephrology, Member of the Entity Pedagogical Unit, first Deputy Head of the Department of Pedagogy and Health Research at the Faculty of Health Sciences of the University of Abomey-Calavi, Acting Head of the University Clinic of Nephrology-Hemodialysis of the Centre National Hospitalier et Universitaire Hubert Koutougou Maga. He is also interested in university pedagogy, in the supervision of students by developing adapted tools. He loves reading and sport. He is fluent in French and very moderately in English.
Prof (assoc) Emilia Vynnycky

Emilia is employed by the UK Health Security Agency (formerly Public Health England) and has a part-time affiliation with London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine. She has previously worked on modelling tuberculosis and influenza and on modelling rubella. She currently co-organises an introductory MSc module on infectious disease modelling at LSHTM, as well as the short course “Introduction to Infectious Disease Modelling and its Applications”, which runs annually at LSHTM and which is organized jointly between LSHTM and UKHSA.

Dr Kolawolé Valère Salako

Dr Kolawolé Valère SALAKO is currently a lecturer and researcher in Forestry and Biostatistics at the School of Environment Planning and Management, Faculty of Agronomic Sciences, University of Abomey-Calavi, Benin. Prior to this position, he served as the scientific coordinator of the Laboratoire de Biomathématiques et d’Estimations Forestières (www.labef-uac.org), and took four postdoctoral positions (two in Benin, one in Belgium, and one in Burkina Faso). He holds a PhD in Plant Ecology and Conservation (2016), master’s degrees in Biostatistics (2017) and in natural resources management and Biodiversity (2012), and an agricultural engineer degree (major Forestry, 2011).

Dr Schadrac Agbla

Schadrac Agbla is a postdoctoral researcher in Biostatistics, holding an MRC Skills Development Fellowship at the University of Liverpool. His research aims to investigate the causal factors for preterm birth and their effects on early child development delay. He also has interests in understanding and improving diagnostics of paediatric TB and TB drug resistance. He is a part-time research fellow at LSHTM, an associate fellow of the MRC International Statistics & Epidemiology Group at LSHTM, an external lecturer at Charité University Berlin/Germany and at the Laboratoire de Biomathématiques et d’Estimations Forestières at the University of Abomey-Calavi/Benin.
Prof (assoc) Sian Floyd

Dr Floyd is a statistician and epidemiologist, and my research has focused on HIV and tuberculosis in sub-Saharan Africa. In recent years, She has worked on the HPTN 071 (PopART) community-randomised trial of combination HIV prevention to reduce HIV incidence, the TREATS project that is investigating the effect of the PopART intervention on TB outcomes, the DIAMA project that aims to improve diagnosis and treatment monitoring for MDR-TB, and an impact evaluation study of the DREAMS partnership.

Dr Sèwanou Hermann Honfo

Sèwanou Hermann Honfo is a biostatistician, presently a postdoctoral researcher at the Université de Sherbrooke and Optina Diagnostics, QC, Canada. Sèwanou is devoted to statistical programming, data science especially the application of statistical methods in medical biology and ecology .

Dr Hélène Robin Sacca
Assistant of the coordinator of the Master program of Epidemiology
Hélène Robin Sacca , after her first graduate studies in the Faculty of Pharmacy, continued with a Diploma in Pharmacy and Humanitarian Aid which led her to work in Benin on the implementation of a program to fight against Diabetes. Interested in the health of African populations, she then obtained a diploma in International Public Health at ISPED in 2016. Since 2017, she has been working as an assistant to Professor Houinato in the Laboratoire d’Epidémiologie des Maladies Chroniques et Neurologiques (LEMACEN).
OGNI Olaréwadjou Mafoya Ignace
Finance and accountability officer
Mr Igance Ogni graduated from the National School of the Public Administration and Magistracy, University of Abomey-Calavi, as specialist in Public Finance and Treasury Administration. Since November 2019, he is the Head of the Financial Management Division at the Faculty of Agronomic Sciences, University of Abomey-Calavi, mainly in chargeof Externally Funded Projects.
