Master in Epidemiology

The Université d’Abomey-Calavi (UAC), through the Laboratoire d’Epidémiologie des Maladies Chroniques et Neurologiques (LEMACEN), is making available
in Benin a research Master’s program in Epidemiology and Public Health Interventions (MEISP), which focuses on chronic diseases and complements the Master’s courses available in the field of public health in Benin. This master’s degree is the only research Master’s degree in public health and epidemiology in Benin; the others are professional Master’s degrees. The aim is to optimize the performance of strategies and policies for combating public health problems, especially chronic diseases, by means of trained and competent local players

Master in Statistics, Major Biostatistics

The master’s program in Biostatistics of the University of Abomey-Calavi was accredited in 2013 by the CPUAQ, the administrative body in charge of need-based evaluation and issues program accreditations at the University of Abomey-Calavi. Since 2013, 68 students have graduated from the Master of Biostatistics. Even though, Benin is a Francophone country, the program is taught in English and attracts young scholars from various African countries. Fourteen (14) African nationalities are represented in the program as students.

Mentoring Program

The TEBWA project has given a high emphasise to the mentoring of its fellows. The project has planned to pair each fellow with two mentors: one local mentor from Benin (for at least two years) and one from foreign mentor, from the LSHTM (for at least one year). The local mentors have been selected through a competitive process and then paired with the TEBWA fellows
